There Will Be No Deep State Coup Against Trump Because the Deep State is (R)

Or the portions of the Deep State that still know how to use firearms and have yet to be converted into transgender research centers.

This is necessarily a small number of personnel following the disorder of the Obama administration. But their limited size makes them not unimportant. Without their guns a coup can go nowhere. Any scheming to the contrary on NeoGaf, DKos, and similar sites monitored by the Otis Index amounts to empty bleetings.

Even suggestions from within the Deep State in support of this Kos-coup are not coming from those who know how to stage one. The CIA is the most hostile towards Trump of all defense, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies. But the anti-Trump leaks it has been making to the media are being made mostly by the Valerie Plame sort who are more used to giving campus lectures on global warming than performing real espionage.

Long gone are the days when Eisenhower could wink at the CIA and have them bring down Mossadeq a month later. The few remaining CIA agents who are familiar with bringing down governments and counter-intelligence operations are white males over 60 who mostly supported Trump. All of the other armed branches of the Federal Government from the military, to the FBI are Trump territory.

Those hoping for Trump to be removed are in reality left with the hope of impeachment. Their hope is a mirage because impeachment would require substantial votes from Congressional Republicans for whom there is no good time to do it from their own perspective of political self-preservation. If Trump’s approval stays above 30% they can’t impeach him before the mid-terms without damaging their own Congressional chances when his supporters stay home with Trump’s encouragement. By the 2020 general election they are better off waiting to see if he wins reelection than trying to remove him from office; if he is unpopular enough that he is at risk of impeachment the voters will remove him for them without their getting the blame for it.

  1. Have you read the article on Unz the political theory of everything and the 2016 election? Have the military wing with Trump revolted against the civilian branch?

Also, have you watched the inaugural speech? Watch from 2min mark. Just when Trump talks about this not being an ordinary hand over of power, the military come down and stand behind him. Concidence? Symbolism?

I have yet to watch his speech to the CIA. Then, we have the mass exit of State dep people. Then, we have his choice of cabinet picks: Matthis, Flynn and other generals who argued with Obama and got fired.

    No.

But I figured the men with guns segment of USG were on Trump’s side when the FBI (perhaps having Janet Reno flashbacks???) revolted against a Clinton restoration and forced Comey to reopen his investigation.

Not at all surprising. They stood by him for the same reason the FBI did.

Not enough of State has fled in terror.

The CIA is a shadow of what it once was. I approve of Mattis and Flynn putting more of a Rightist (Fascist?!) stamp on the our pitiful intelligence agencies.

    http://www.unz.com/article/political-sciences-theory-of-everything/

Lot of noise and confusion in those links, some truth and some plausibility.

    Some ideas:

1: Trump and his team needs to smash the media.

A: Get some kind of investigation going. Firstly, make the obvious persuasion play about “liberal bias” and the connections to universities and “crazy” ideology. A good play is would be to bring in Lippmann, Bernays, the WW1 and WW2 propaganda, and yes — even Chomsky’s “Manufacturing consent” (lifted from Lippmann). Get Greenwald in.

B: Investigate not only the collision between the media, specific journalists, and donations to the Clinton campaign, but their all out assault on him and his campaign.

C: Go after the New York Times and the fact that a foreign national owns it (Carlos Slim right?)

D: Use the point that they were so heavily wrong about predicting his failure — they cannot be trusted.

E: Go after their reporting about Islam. The falsity and bias of it. Talk about national security….. Talk up the threat….. Again, this links in with universities.

F; Create alternative channels of communication and use different outlets. (His idea about using bloggers and other news sights is good.)

2: What can he do about education?

Separate education from the federal gov.

3: What can he do about the universities?

Can he start to defund them?

4: Could he, should he, get a constitutional amendment passed over immigration (especially Islamic immigration) that limits it for, say, 50 years?

5: Could he pack the Supreme Court?

6: Go after Clinton and Obama, corrupt traitors that they are.

I think Trump should escalate the conflict but stay within the rules. The aim should be to get the left as riled as possible and make them go bad. In short, polarise the situation. Make it look, especially to the military, FBI and the “Reagan democrats” that the democrats are the enemies of America.

    Foreign Policy:

1: He needs to have a big win in a negotiation: Russia is perfect here. I.e we saved the world….

2: He needs to destroy ISIS; he needs Bagdadi dead. And he needs to gloat over it.

3: He needs to pile on the pressure on the European Union — Squeeze em.

4: Visit Muslim countries and apologise for the “Bush/Obama democracy promotion; say that Muslims are unique in their culture, that they are not suited for democracy; that America will no longer seek to impose its values on the rest of the world, but that we (America) will assert our self-interest in the face of attack….

    Domestic.

1: A nice (awful) terrorist attack by a Muslim at a gay nightclub, church or school would allow Trump to use his persuasion skills and link Islam and the left. Make hay with every single incident. He needs to get some good old fashioned propaganda made, putting the fear and anger into people.

Create a special (academic) investigation into Muslim violence. The purpose is to start a fight with the left and to discredit them (which links in with what I have said above).

2: Africans Americans. What could he do to either to get their vote for next time, or cause them to not turn out to vote?

All in all, Trump cannot ignore the left. He cannot govern as if they are “loyal opposition”. He needs to cause their collapse. How?

Of course, when I say Trump I mean his team. I don’t know too much about Bannon, but I think he gets it.

Time is running out, Trump’s Presidency cannot be run like a normal Presidency.

  4. Trump exposes media hypocrisy simply by mentioning any issue. Whatever topic brings up the media always opposes the position he takes no matter how sensible it may be.

Combating the Left will be getting special treatment by this blog in the near future….

  5. Tried to post this on the other thread but couldn’t:

KL argues that Mussolini started out as a radical socialist so….

He argues that the early fascists in Italy were socialists.

Also, he seems to assume that because they were democratic or used democracy that makes them left.

The general argument is that they were envious and resentful and had a desire for uniformity which he argues is a key left wing trait.

I don’t know what to make of that, as I don’t know enough.

Have you ever read Umberto Eco’s Ur fascism?

I read Hamilton on the Executive powers in the Federalist. Quite funny, he said an executive must have “energy”! Naturally, I was thinking of Trump.

Aside from that, the NSA is pretty far left. I don’t know about DHS and the rest of the crew.

  7. Remember, a long time ago, there was a thing called the “Arab Spring”?

Mossadeq was trickier for the CIA to overthrow because his power was backed up the Soviets, and Ike would not commit American conventional forces in Iran.

How much of the Arab Spring was the result of CIA actions is a great question.

Gadhaffi was removed by airstrikes. Mubarak lost heart after Obama backed the Muslim Brotherhood (“but I’ve been a reliable client dictator!” he must have said to himself) but had he found some spine and cracked down ruthlessly as al-Sissi did Mubarak could have smothered the Egyptian Spring early and remained as figurehead leader of the Egyptian military. The Syrian rebels needed American supplies and money to push Assad to the brink of defeat.

That leaves the score as two (Libya and Syria) that were the result of direct or indirect support from the conventional American military and not the CIA, and one (Egypt) where the CIA’s moral support for the Muslim Brotherhood was insufficient to dislodge the ruling junta.

The CIA’s work against Mossadeq is still the more impressive operation, and something they’d be very unlikely to pull off today without regular American military power.

Aside from that, the NSA is pretty far left. I don’t know about DHS and the rest of the crew.

DHS is a mess of rejects from other FedGov agencies. When it was created by Bush after 911 many other departments used to it to offload their “problem” employees (i.e., minorities) into Homeland Security.

DHS as a result is filled with Democrat voting minorities but who are too incompetent and disorganized to stage an overthrow.

  8. You can’t bring down the Democrat-supporting media, it’s impossible. A waste of time trying. Financially they’re supported by billionaires. And broadly, newspapers such as NYT and WaPo represent the views of the Establishment, Hollywood, academia, ethnic minorities, Silicon Valley and Wall Street. These groups are immune to debate, just as we are! Better to ignore them and not get suckered into pointless arguments with them (eg about the millions of illegals voting in the Election). Just get on with implementing the policies that got Trump elected.
